About the palm frond veil look
Fronds hang a few inches from a 200 mm lens at f/2.8, so they melt into green blur along the edges. That long lens also compresses the distant skyline right up behind the subject. The low sun rims hair, beard and shoulders in gold and flares into the glass, leaving most of the face in shadow. From the camera side, one red-gelled flash adds the only artificial color.
Clothes, place and when to pick it
Styling is coastal and dark: an oversized crinkled black nylon parka worn open over a bare chest, huge black cargo shorts, chunky sandals, shield sunglasses pushed up into the hair and a silver chain. haloshot adds your face from three ordinary photos.
