About the giant sun disc look
Distance is the trick. At that range, extreme compression makes the sun disc fill the frame behind the head, larger than the body itself. Stopping down to f/8 keeps the outline crisp while warm air ripples through the glow. Backlight rims the hair and shoulders, and a saturated orange flash from the camera side lifts just a sliver of the face out of shadow.
