About the rim light look
One hard backlight sits directly behind the head, with zero fill from the front. Haze catches the beam and builds a halo around the silhouette. Lenses of 35 mm and 85 mm point straight into the source, picking up flare and veiling glare. Frontal frames turn the head into a dark disc inside a corona, and the eyes are barely readable.
Clothes, place and when to pick it
A sculptural black coat with dramatic shoulders and a high collar gives the outline its shape.
