Prism Error: a prism fashion AI photoshoot

Five tight studio portraits where a glass prism held at the lens bends part of the frame into soft echoes of hair, shoulder and profile. The main face stays direct and undistorted, with faint blue and pale magenta fringes running past it.

About the prism refraction look
An 85 mm lens at very shallow depth of field keeps one plane sharp: the eyes. The prism sits a few centimeters in front of the glass, so whatever it catches turns soft, doubled and edged with color, and a small turn moves the echo across the frame. A hard neutral key shapes the face and puts tight highlights on brushed silver jewelry. The palette stays gray, black and silver.
Clothes, place and when to pick it
Both women and men wear the same experimental tailoring: an asymmetric charcoal blazer with an architectural collar over layered minimal pieces, plus brushed silver jewelry. It is shot in a studio against a dark gray backdrop. Use it for a portfolio cover, a jewelry lookbook or a profile picture where your face sits beside its own echo.

How to refract a portrait through a glass prism
A glass prism held almost against the front element refracts part of the scene into a second, softer image. Turning it moves that echo and its color fringes across the frame.
- Get an optical glass prism 50 to 100 mm long; acrylic ones scratch quickly and add haze.
- Shoot the 85 mm wide open, around f/1.8, and focus on the eyes before bringing the prism in.
- Hold the prism at one edge of the lens and rotate slowly until a doubled shoulder or profile appears.
- Light the face with one hard neutral key, letting some strike the glass for blue and magenta fringes.
Handle the prism in cotton gloves, because skin oil on the glass smears the echo.
