Vaseline Halo: a Vaseline lens AI photoshoot
Vaseline Halo shoots through a filter smeared with petroleum jelly, so every bulb and bright edge spreads into soft radial strokes around a nearly clear center. Six low-key frames in smoky gold and oxblood, with a white shirt glowing under a black tuxedo.

About the smeared filter look
Several bare bulbs and a strong backlight sit behind the subject, and the smear drags each one into a streaked halo. An 85 mm lens at f/2.8 looks through the filter, where a clean patch in the middle keeps the eyes holding shape. Toward the edges the image dissolves into glowing fog. Profiles pick up long rays of backlight across the cheek.
Clothes, place and when to pick it
A black tuxedo jacket with satin lapels and a white open-collar shirt give the smear something to work with, since the lapel shine melts into streaks and the collar glows. haloshot puts your own face in the clear center from three phone photos. It fits a New Year post, a jazz or soul single cover, or an evening event invitation.
