About the flashlight painting look
A small warm tungsten flashlight does most of the painting, with a single stroke from a cold white LED flashlight for contrast. Brightness is uneven by design, heavier where the beam lingered. The 35 mm lens sits on a tripod at f/8 for 15 seconds. Breathing leaves slight ghost doubling, and bright streaks appear wherever the light passed in front of the lens.
Clothes, place and when to pick it
A textured bouclé coat gives the beam something to rake across, so the fabric reads in relief even in a narrow stroke. Frames range from a band of light across the eyes to a full figure in uneven strokes. haloshot paints the light onto your own face from three phone photos. Use it for cover art, a moody profile photo or a portfolio opener.
