Snow Day: a disposable camera AI photoshoot in the snow

Snow Day hands you six winter snapshots that look like they came back from a drugstore lab: flash fired into bright midday snow, soft corners, coarse grain and faded color. Horizons tilt, a beanie gets clipped at the top, and nobody holds a pose for long.

About the disposable camera look
A cheap 30 mm plastic lens at f/10 and a fixed 1/125 s make every decision. High winter sun arrives from one side and the open snow bounces it everywhere, while the tiny built-in flash pops in each frame and brightens the nearest parka and mittens more than the slope behind. Shadows on the snow go blue, sunlit snow clips to white, and ISO 800 film adds coarse grain.
Clothes, place and when to pick it
haloshot puts women in an oversized ice-blue parka with wide tangerine snow trousers, and men in an ice-blue puffer over a waffle thermal with graphite nylon snow pants; both wear a cream beanie and gray fleece mittens. Boulders and pines dot an open slope. Use it for a winter photo dump or a holiday card with your own face.

How to get the disposable camera look in snow
The look comes from a single-use camera with ISO 800 color negative, its flash fired on every frame even in full sun, and a cheap lab scan.
- Go out around midday on an open snowy slope, sun to one side, so the snow bounces light everywhere.
- Rely on the fixed 30 mm plastic lens at f/10 and 1/125 s, and recharge the flash before every shot.
- Shoot from chest height 1 to 3 m away, horizon tilted; closer than a meter, faces go soft.
- Ask for snow throws, slides and wading, then have a drugstore lab develop and scan the roll.
Cold drains the flash battery; keep the camera inside your jacket between shots.
